I joined the STEM Youth council because I believe that expanding the STEM opportunities for our youth would allow them to explore and grow their interests and curiosities earlier. I know STEM can seem scary and unapproachable, but as a youth council member, I want to help dismantle this stigma in young Iowans. In the future, I would like to use my STEM skills to pursue my interests in medicine."

Skills from STEM are important building blocks that will help kids succeed in the future. This is why I work to get them involved with it. I have a YouTube channel called Program Like A Girl, and on this, I do fun science experiments to show kids that STEM can be fun and exciting. I have also been working to implement a STEM program in my local elementary school. And, I work to spread my platform using my title of National American Miss Iowa Junior Teen."
