MVP for Iowa STEM: Mary Meisterling and Alliant Energy

This month’s MVP for Iowa STEM provides energy to Iowa homes and businesses and also to the ongoing STEM efforts in the state. Mary Meisterling, manager of business support and development for Alliant Energy, has served as an active member of the Iowa Governor’s STEM Advisory Council for three years. MVP for Iowa STEM: Kwizera Imani

The Iowa STEM community first met Kwizera Imani as a senior at North High School in Des Moines. He told his story on how STEM changed his life at the 2015 Iowa STEM Summit. In the short time since then, Kwizera became an official member of the STEM Council, leading efforts to bring youth and diversity perspectives to the effort. Craig Johnson, executive director of the Iowa Academy of Science, first gained a passion for inspiring students while working as a professional meteorologist and making presentations at Iowa schools.
